In the beginning when I started this blog I tried to keep it only focused on sl stuff, but well I’ve always had a hard time doing that and as you’ve probably noticed my rl keeps creeping in. I guess I’m just not good at compartmentalising. There have been so many things going on lately that it’s been really hard for me to find the energy/inspiration to make outfits in Second Life.
To be honest I have actually been on a 2 week vacation from Second Life killing things in WOW. I’m also in the process of looking for a new job because my current one is making me very unhappy and I come home just feeling drained. I’m sure all of you have felt that way at some point too so you’ll understand.
I have to say thank you to everyone for all your congratulations and your support during these times when I’ve had to just step back and regroup. It’s a lot more work than you think to keep doing this blog thing but you guys definately make it worth it. Ok no more mushy stuff on to the Fashion!
I am going to try something different today, mostly because I couldn’t decide which way I liked this outfit better and then I decided that I liked them both!
I started with the top from the Reena dress by Versteck, this has the most adorable slouchy prim sleeves and well its pink and the little ribbons are purple and pink plaid so what’s not to like. I’ve been dying to use the new PixelDolls belts in an outfit (you all knew i would be) so I put on the Dauphine belt in black (it’s more of a dark mauve than black) and its so pretty I think it really takes the fun feel of the top to a more elegant feel. I was happy with the shirt but it just needed that something extra so I put on the stella cami in winebox from Devilish Cupcake and it just completed the look. Of course shiny tops complete any look for me.
Miam Miam has made some really lovely more expensive looking jewelry for the Miam Miam Luxe collection and on my right arm I’m wearing the Amethyst Jewel Bangle all of the pieces are metal color change like her other stuff but they are all just using more precious/semi precious stones and a little more formal than her usual playful stuff. This cuff is really gorgeous and I’m wondering if I can somehow convince Toneless I need one in rl.
On my left arm I’m wearing a freebie bracelet from Le Zoo. This little charm bracelet has pictures of animals and is texture but for free you can’t complain this one of the cutest (hmm guess that’s the word I’m searching for) ideas for a shopping mall I’ve seen lately. It’s set up to look like a run down Zoo and they have lots of free things in the welcome hut. . I suggest you go there check out the shopping while riding your little rezzable zoo golf cart.
On my neck I’m wearing the Gank Collar in Violet from Violet Voltaire. She keeps making such cute stuff and she has a way of mixing in her style with a style that seems to fit any type of outfit. The earrings I have on are the Dark Starflake deep purple sapphire earrings from Alienbear Design. I got them at the Jewelry Expo for like 5L so I’m not sure she has them for sale in her store, but if you are looking for something else to wear you can always wear the earrings from Miam Miam Luxe that match the bangle. They are a nice deep purple. I just liked these from Alienbear because they are more playful.
The skin I have on is the Vogue Skin in Plum Smoky from Celestial Studios, this is probably one of my top 10 favorite makeups from her I think it just looks really nice with lots of different colors.
I wasn’t sure how to talk about the differences in my 2 outfits but really only 3 things changed so I’ll start with the casual outfit first. In the more causal outfit I’m wearing my very favorite capri’s from the Hana outfit at Celestial Studios I just love the shading and little belt and side leg details on these. Then I am wearing the cute cubes ballet flats from Ibizzare, she has these in lots of colors/patterns and thy all have a huge adorable bow on the toe part. These are black with colorful polka dots but she has some to fit just about anyones taste. Finally the hair I’m wearing is called Sammy from Deviant Kitties I love this cute little braid because it has like other little braids built in and its all whispy.
For the second look I was thinking hmm this top is so nice it could definately be dressed up. So I changed to a skirt, the Aeryn prim skirt from the Last Call Catwalk Collection fit perfectly and has the same beautiful shading as the capri’s from Celestial Studios. Best of all it should be on sale for 100L right now as soon as they open the sim back up. I then needed to change my shoes to something a little dressier so I put on the Serenity shoes in purple from Aphrodite Creations. I also needed a more elegant hair so I switched to the Suri in light blonde from Aden. This is still playful but manages to look dressed up too.
I hope you like my experiment in making 2 outfits I don’t know how often I’ll be doing it but sometimes I just can’t decide which way I want to go and this makes it more fun. Also I am looking at changing the layout of the site. It wont really change anything but the look, just I don’t want anyone too shocked when it happens. I’m still working out how exactly I want it to look. (Also how to make my limited ps skills do what I want).
