So there are going is going to be a small change around here. I have been feeling really guilty that I can’t post as much anymore and even briefly considered closing the blog because I just felt like it’s not fair to keep it up if I’m not going to post at all. I have changed my mind and am going instead to go with a suggestion someone gave me. I am going to start doing quick posts. These will just be a photo on a simple background and slurls. I will still do long form posts but they will be much farther apart as the twins should be home next week or so and as you can imagine I’m going to be super busy. I still love making outfits though and sharing them so this was the best solution I could think of.
Now away from the housekeeping news let’s talk about this outfit! It was built around the fabulous Victoria high waisted pencil skirt from Whippet and Buck. This store I really hope you’ve been to is the collaboration from Dakota Buck and her best friend Twiggy Whippet. Dakota said she has taken on more of a managing role in the store but she can take on whatever role she wants I am so happy to have system skirts up to her standards again. This skirt is gorgeous and even if you hate the system skirt I think you’ll make an exception. It is shaded to perfection and the suspender portion comes on different layers.
I really just wanted my tops to highlight this skirt so I went with first this top from the Stripey Dress from Cupcakes. The dress is a cute little baby doll but this top is such a rich red it plays off the navy of the skirt nicely. Underneath just to make it a little more casual I added the Shroom Tee from Gypsy Soul. Gypsy soul outfits are fabulous for always coming on all possible layers and this is no exception.
Of course I needed tights. Has it been awhile since I wore them? I don’t remember …but I still love them. These are from my favorite pack from Creamshop, but really you can get tights anywhere and everywhere. The Clara slingbacks in steel blue match this skirt perfectly!
I felt like I needed a dramatic hair but I couldn’t quite found what I wanted then I thought HATS! I rarely wear them but this Marlena hait from Elegance Hats is so cute and saucy. I feel a little like a character from a detective novel with it on. Under the hat I have on one of the new hairs from Dark Mouse called Magda. It’s a simple short hair but it looks great under hats or all by itself.
I wanted the jewelry to stand out but not be overpowering so the mala beads necklace and bracelets from Luc in green malachite worked nicely. My earrings are hard to see but they are the adorable Ladybug earrings from Caroline’s Jewelry. These were a group gift but I think she sells a set as well.
As I said the twins will probably be home in the next week or so Ty will probably be home Sunday or Monday as long as nothing happens. Which is great but a little daunting. I guess I’ll figure it all out but if I’m even more quiet than usual you’ll know why!
